In the south of South Tyrol, several remarkable long-distance trails invite you to experience the landscape in all its variety.
The Schwarz-Weiß-Weg is the new long-distance route in the South Tyrolean Lowlands. It draws attention to the contrasts that define South Tyrol—and especially the Lowlands—along the Trudner fault line: languages and borders, rock types, mountain and valley, alpine and Mediterranean, black and white. Our region is unique and rewards being discovered on foot, from village to village. Each place has its own character, which can be explored on the individual village loops.

The well-known European long-distance trail E5 leads from the Alps to Verona and also crosses South Tyrol, offering varied stages between mountains, forests, and wine villages. Another highlight for nature and geology enthusiasts is the Dolomites UNESCO Geotrail, which brings the unique formation history of the Dolomites to life and offers hikers fascinating insights into Earth’s history. Together, these routes open up captivating perspectives on nature, culture, and landscape in the south of South Tyrol.
