A relaxing walk through the village centre of Aldein with traditional houses, old farms and beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

When mountain farmer Nikolaus Lantschner began marketing his free-range eggs in the 1990s, it was no easy task. Initially, it was a matter of convincing people of this new concept of farming and the higher price associated with it. But the Eggerhof farmer's belief in species-appropriate animal husbandry and uncompromising quality soon paid off.

Today, the Eggerhof with its free-range chickens at 1,200 metres on the sunny Reggelberg is an indispensable supplier of free-range eggs with the South Tyrolean quality label.
‘The flavour and quality are of course something completely different. This convinced many people and soon led to an increase in demand,’ says Nikolaus Lantschner.

Eggerhof on the Reggelberg stands for high-quality free-range eggs from animal-friendly farming at 1,200 metres above sea level and traditional craftsmanship.

From Bolzano, Aldein is best reached via the A22 Brenner Motorway, exit Neumarkt–Auer, then continue towards Auer and through Montan to Aldein. Eggerhof is located on the Reggelberg, directly next to Hotel Schönblick, and can be easily reached by car.

From Bolzano, the best way to reach Aldein is by regional train to Neumarkt-Auer railway station. From there, continue by bus towards Aldein. To visit Eggerhof and Hotel Schönblick, the best stop is “Aldein Schönblick”, which is located nearby.
