The South Tyrolean capital of Bozen/Bolzano presents a rich cultural offer. In the summer numerous cultural events invite visitors. Among the museums the archaeology museum with the ice mummy, MMM Firmian/Firmiano and the South Tyrol Museum of Natural History are particularly recommended. The town also has castles on offer: because of its medieval frescoes Castel Runkelstein/Roncolo is particularly worth a visit.
