The Gothic Church San Pietro has been built in the 11th century at the southern entrance of the village Ora. In the past, the church was the most important church of the surrounding villages. The church is enclosed by the local cemetery and lies in a five meter deep pit. Therefore the church was not always accessible due to the floodings of the stream "Rio Nero". Much later, the decision was taken to expose the church and to protect it with a defensive wall. The church has been renovated in the 70s. Today, it is open to the public for mass and Christian celebrations. Moreover the church has the oldest playable organ in South Tyrol.
