In Meltina at an altitude of 1,200 m stands Arunda, Europe’s highest sparkling wine producing winery. The location is ideal for the ripening and storage of sparkling wines. The natural changes in temperature allow the sparkling wine to ripen slowly and evenly. The Reiterer family produces fruity, elegant sparkling wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes, using only the classical method of bottle fermentation. These sparkling wines ripen in their own yeast for a period of at least 24 months. Cuvées can ripen up to 60 months.
Once a week the sparkling wine producer Arunda offers a guided tour.
